Drawings from seaweed

(Available as flash tattoos)

I spent some time gazing into tide pools recently and looking at lots of seaweed and rocks. I felt really inspired by the calming stillness of the rocks and shells sitting beneath the surface, and enjoyed taking in all the different textures.

Here are some drawings I did from the shapes of the seaweed I found. The original 3 symmetrical drawings I did a week ago ended up inspiring a few more pieces - the sketches on the blue background break down the process of how I came up with the final pieces.

1. Seaweed pic 2. Drew from literal seaweed 3. Moved shapes around, found the favourite 4. Added to it.

1. Overlaid two symmetrical seaweeds 2. Made a new one inspired by both.

And finally this last one moves back closer to the original shapes of the real seaweed.

These are all available designs to be tattooed. I think they’d look particularly good flowing down arms, legs, or across shoulders/backs. I imagined the symmetrical ones as lower back tattoos! Just an idea.
